A calm, practical checklist for the first 24 hours
Stay calm. Most pets are found within the first few kilometres. Work this list in order during the first 24 hours.
Walk the last known route. Bring treats, a leash, and a recent photo. Call their name calmly — scared pets often hide nearby.
Tell guards, shopkeepers, and neighbours. Leave your number on a note at the gate.
Share clear photos, last seen location, and a contact number. Pin posts in area groups for DHA, Bahria, Gulberg, etc.
Phone nearby clinics and rescue pages. Visit in person if possible — do not rely on phone alone.
Large photo, “LOST DOG/CAT”, reward optional, your phone number. Place at intersections near last sighting.
Ask shops or building management for footage. Riders often notice loose pets on routes.
Ensure collar ID + consider a QR tag so finders can reach you without reading a faded phone number on a tag.
When someone finds your pet, they scan the tag and choose masked call or SMS — you get alerted even if the collar phone number is worn off. See dog and cat tag options.
